readme

YouTube keeps finding new places to put Shorts. This extension removes them everywhere they show up and replaces the Subscriptions page with a strict chronological list of every channel I follow, newest first. No "most relevant" reordering.

What it does

  • Hides Shorts shelves, tabs and individual Shorts across the site, including in the newer components YouTube rolls out over time.
  • Replaces Subscriptions with its own feed, built from YouTube's own browse endpoint so it uses the session already signed in.
  • A popup with per-feature switches and filter rules I can add or remove.

How it got here

The first version built the subscriptions feed from each channel's RSS feed. That meant hundreds of requests, with retries and backoff when YouTube throttled them. Version 1.6 switched to the same browse endpoint YouTube's own page uses, which was faster and more reliable.

The extension's homepage and privacy policy are published on GitLab Pages and were made for a Chrome Web Store listing. The store art (marquee, tiles and screenshots) lives in the repo too.

Currently at version 1.6.2.
